Chic & Cozy

Unpacking and repacking a diaper bag loaded with toys, blankets and all of the essentials gets old fast. That is why I am loving the idea of the Chic & Cozy Blanket Bag - a bag and blanket in one, with a water-resistant outer fabric so you can let baby play comfortably on damp grass and be ready to head home with a quick regathering of the bag. Brilliant!

{Chic & Cozy Bags are also available at Target.}

Owl Pacifier Clip

I have a friend with a serious thing for owls. If she were to have another little one, this owl pacifier clip would be one of the first things I would get her.

My favorite baby bath seat

A friend is expecting her first child and we got to chatting about what is and isn't worth buying for baby. When the discussion turned to bath items, specifically tubs, I got on my little soapbox about why the EZ Bather is the only bath seat I would ever own. It fits in any bath tub, allowing for easy adjustments to the temperature and quick draining when accidents occur. Babies stay low and warm in the seat and you have access without extra bulk to get in your way. It dries quickly and its small size means that you aren't giving up space for yet another baby item. And it costs around $6. Find one here, or check the baby section of local retailers.

Car Seat Covers

If I had known that my life was destined for 3 daughters I would never have invested in a blue car seat. However, the Sassy Stork has turned my neutral blue car seat into a fabulous, stylish girl chariot! I loved how easy Kate was to work with and her handy work is worth every penny. My favorite feature was that I was able to pick my own fabric, so it is unique to my new little Princess!

She also has heaps of other goodies in her shop, like diaper bags and infant booties!

Kids Konserve

These little stainless steel containers from Kids Konserve have made making lunches easier for me this year. The mini containers are perfect for putting small items in, like nuts, dried fruit, small crackers, a handful of grapes, a vegetable dip or a treat. Knowing I can grab a tiny container without having to worry about wasting baggies keeps me inclined provide little amounts of things in portion sizes that the kids will actually eat.

{Round Food Containers}

The round food containers are convenient for snacking on the go or for lunches. I'll use them for items like crackers and cheese, pastas, lunch-friendly leftovers, a large handful of edamame, carrots, or big pieces of fruit. Half a sandwich fits in easily too.

{Small or large Stainless Steel Tiffin}

We've had fun experimenting with Bento-type lunch packing, so I've got my eyes on these tiffins for next year.

Baby Carrier Buying Tips

We received this write up on different styles of baby carriers and think it shares some useful information for choosing a carrier that is the right fit for you. If you have any suggestions on carriers or a favorite brand or style, let us know!

Having a baby doesn’t mean that your daily routine has to stop; it simply has to change. With that being said, maintaining your active lifestyle while taking on the role as parent is essential to the growth of your family and all of this can be made possible through a baby carrier. Choosing the right baby carrier for you is all about personal preference and how a certain style works with your routine, not against it.

Baby Sling

The three main carrier designs include baby slings, backpacks, and standard front-facing baby carriers. Some parents often will use more than one option depending on the activity at hand and what feels most comfortable during that point in time. When it comes to naptime, slings are a great alternative to what baby cribs offer young children. While your newborn is still getting used to sleeping alone and having a hard time falling asleep, you can keep it close to your body in a comfortable baby sling.

View Baby Sling Options

This baby carrier option is great for holding your newborn close when you have little things to do around the home or are socializing with friends and family. Lying close to your body will put your child at ease during their fussiest moments while you’ll feel like a super parent seeing as how you’ll have your hands free to complete other tasks! Some parents prefer padded baby slings that offer more support for your infant’s head and also can take the strain off of your shoulder when carrying the baby for a longer period of time while others like unpadded designs as they are easily adjustable and flexible for breastfeeding. Many parents have thought that it’s much more beneficial for their children to rest in their cribs while they’re tidying up the house, but it’s important to realize how advantageous a baby sling is in their everyday lives. Try bringing your child along while you work around your home and use this as an opportunity to have the most intimate moments with them.

ViewBackpack Baby Carrier

If the day takes you on an adventure, the backpack model is your best option in terms of support and comfort. This style is great for taking a walk when you want to give the stroller a rest or for carrying older children that weight approximately 40 pounds or less. Backpack carriers with a lightweight aluminum frame, lumbar support, and padded shoulder straps will create a comfortable experience for both child and parent during the busiest of days. One feature that is definitely worth seeking out is a sun shield that attaches over the top of the backpack carrier in order to help protect your child’s head and face from sunny or rainy weather conditions.

ViewBaby Carrier

Finally, standard baby carriers that are worn over the chest are a great option for infants and young toddlers that are on the go. If you live in a more urban environment and the majority of your errands are in walking distance, strapping on this standard baby carrier design will provide a place for your little one to stay close to you on the sidewalk without having to deal with the hassle that a baby stroller can bring along. Front-facing baby carriers typically hold children that are 20-25 pounds or less and many of them can be converted to the backpack style in order to accommodate each parent’s preference.

Stokke Tripp Trapp

I'm intrigued. A high chair that really truly grows with your child from the first feeding till, well, it holds up to 300 lbs so pretty much as long as you want. Plus the Tripp Trapp looks neat and has a great color selection (I'm really liking the black).

I am happy with the high chair I have, but as the Mother of two kids who gave up their highchair much sooner than any child should, I really wish I would have looked into an option like this for longer-term feeding and helping the kids reach the table. And even though my highchair looks good, it still looks like a highchair. This would be much funner.

Check out all of the features here and purchase the Tripp Trapp here or find a store here.

Pee Pee Tee Pee

We don't have boys in our family, period. However, my dear friend Natalie just had the cutest little boy and she recieved these Pee Pee Tee Pee's in the mail. I had to chuckle when I saw them, probably because I don't understand the importance of them. Natalie, on the other hand, will get her use out of them, I am sure. I just thought they were darling and practical for a newborn boy. My favorite is the Santa Hat!
