Writing Letters

If you are like me, writing in a journal or even scrapbooking about your children is hard to keep up on. A friend of mine suggested writing letters instead. All you do is write a letter to your child once a year on their birthday and then put it somewhere special (like a file or letter box) and then they get to open them on their 18th birthday! It fulfills your motherly duties of documenting their lives, and they will get a kick out what they were doing at say age 5!

I have a friend who dies this... I feel bad though because my 8 year old would be our 8 years worth while my 1 year old would have one for each year... Would that be fair?

I say go for it!

Your kids will love any amount of letters that they get from you. It may not seem fair if you compare the two kid's piles, but from their individual perspective, being given their letters at different points in their life, they will never even know.
