Steven Kellogg

Whenever we come home with books from the library we usually wind up with a new favorite or two. Anything by Steven Kellogg is almost a guaranteed hit. The brilliant illustrations and playful writing keep us all entertained. His twist on the story of Henny Penny in Chicken Little is still repeatedly requested even though our borrowed copy has been returned.
We are a little out of season, but The Missing Mitten Mystery is the tale of a little girl, Annie, and her search for yet another lost mitten. With both real and imagined scenes, each page of this adventure is so beautifully and magically illustrated you almost want to jump into the pages and join in the fun. My daughter has started to act out the story for me and loves to put her hand to her mouth and call Annie and her dog Oscar in for hot chocolate!
