Throw a book shower!

I saw this idea in a magazine and thought it was a creative way host a baby shower. The main idea is to stock the new baby's bookcase. Party guests are asked to bring a favorite book from their childhood, one of their kids favorites, or a book on parenting.

Games to Play:

Fill in the blank: Have the guest fill in the blanks to popular nursery rhymes.

Alphabet books: Party guests are challenged to find a book title for every letter of the alphabet.

Famous words: Read a few sentences from well known children's book. Have the guests try to guess which book they came from.

Decorating tips:

Dress up the tables with stuffed animals based on favorite book characters. Blow up covers of your favorite books and hang from ribbon.
