Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a life-long disorder that not only affects the child diagnosed, but everyone who interacts with them. The number of children diagnosed with ASD has been on the rise and continues to increase nationwide. Because of this growth in diagnoses, the need for adequate therapeutic services is also growing. Unfortunately, those needed services are usually not covered by insurance and are high in cost and time. Research has demonstrated that the earlier children begin to receive services the more likely their daily functioning will improve.
There are many funding opportunities that exist for autism related services. One simple way that you can help is to watch this short video about how children are affected by Autism. Just by watching this video, money will be donated to Autism Speaks. (For more information on this donation through video-viewing program, click here.)
Autism Speaks is an organization that advocates for Autism and funds research aimed at improving the lives of those who have Autism. For more information about Autism, getting involved, or donation opportunities, please visit www.autismspeaks.org

Bravo for helping raise money for these kids! There are other grassroots organizations trying to reach out closer to home. As a planner, I did an event for a foundation in Philadelphia last spring. We raised money for families who can't afford or don't have access to the resources that many do. The mother of an amazing autistic young man is the founder and she is tireless in her quest to help these wonderful children. Glad I stumbled on your blog!
Thanks for sharing Wendy. My sister works with autistic children and is able to see firsthand what a blessing it is when people make a difference in these families lives. It is always inspirational to hear of new ways we can help, thanks!
