My daughter loves to be read to. She asks for the same books over and over. One thing I have found useful in reading with her is to do a project about the book afterwards. Here is one example. We read the book "Where the Wild Things Are," and then made a picture of Max afterwards. The book suddenly comes alive and it allows you to ask questions that are great for critical thinking skills and comprehension.
