This is a delicious, low-maintenance way to add a little more green to your and your child's diet. Don't be turned off by the color, the flavor is delicious and your kids will love it! Just put it in an opaque glass or sippy cup if your child is old enough to be suspicious of the color. Or add extra berries and the smoothie will be more purple than green.
Spinach Smoothie
Place the following in blender:
1 C. orange juice
2 C. fresh spinach (not the frozen kind)
1 C. fresh kale (cut out the thick center stem) or subsitute extra spinach
Blend until smooth and green
Add:
1/2 banana
1/4 C. frozen raspberries
1/4 C. frozen blueberries
Blend again and then add ICE while blending!

This was surprisingly good. You can't taste the spinach.
I made this for myself this morning and it kept me full until noon. I'm going to make it for my teenager tomorrow!!
It's a fresher version of Odwalla juice that they love! The will benfit from the calcium and nutrients and we all know teens need that!
