Live Butterfly Kits

Did you know that butterflies taste with their feet? After their feet tell them if what they are standing on tastes sweet, they unroll their long tongue (proboscis) and drink. We were able to learn about this and watch it happen as we enjoyed our Live Butterfly Kit.

If you have debated whether or not to pick up a butterfly kit, I urge you to do so! It was absolutely fascinating to watch the butterfly's life cycle, and it was a pretty low maintenance activity. The kids loved it, and we saved our net so that we can order "refill caterpillars" for next year! Check your local toy store for a kit, ours has them for $20.
